Public eduction is hostile to Christianity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over the past century, public education in America has abandoned its original Christian foundation to become increasingly secular and now indoctrinate students into a philosophy antagonistic to Christianity.\u00a0 Consider the following record:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. In 1948 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that religious groups could not teach religious courses on school premises during the school day (McCollum v. Board of Education).  On June 25, 1962 (Engel v. Vitale) the Court ruled that school-sponsored prayer was unconstitutional and on June 17, 1963 (Abington School District v. Schempp) that Bible readings were not allowed in public schools.<\/li>
  2. In January 1963 Congressman Albert S. Herlong, Jr. read into the U.S. Congressional Record (Vol. 109, 88th<\/sup> Congress, 1st<\/sup> Session, Appendix, pp. A34-A35) the following goals for American public education (as cited in Mike Riddle, \u201cErasing Our Christian Identity, One School Day at a Time,\u201d The RenewaNation Review<\/em> vol. 7, no. 1, spring 2015, p. 15):<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. \u201cEliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of \u2018separation of church and state.\u2019\u201d<\/li>
    2. \u201cDiscredit American culture.  Discredit the family as an institution.  Encourage promiscuity and divorce.\u201d<\/li>
    3. \u201cPresent homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as \u2019normal, natural and healthy.\u2019\u201d<\/li>
    4. \u201cDiscredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a \u2018religious crutch.\u2019\u201d<\/li>
    5. \u201cControl schools.  Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda.  Soften the curriculum.\u201d<\/li>
    6. \u201cGet control of teachers\u2019 associations.  Put the party line in textbooks.\u201d<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      public education promotes sexual perversity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The Bible should be taught at all grade levels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      But the Bible should be not only present but, in fact, prevalent at all levels of Christian education, since the most important lesson we can teach our children is to obey God\u2019s commands.\u00a0 Consider the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Paul commended Timothy, that \u201cfrom childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work\u201d (2 Tim. 3:15-17).<\/li>
      2. Solomon wrote that \u201cthe fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction\u201d (Prov. 1:7).<\/li>
      3. Solomon concluded Ecclesiastes, saying, \u201cFear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person\u201d (Eccles. 12:13).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        It is incumbent on parents to educate their children where biblical, not secular values dominate.\u00a0 Logos Academy seeks to help parents to this end by providing an environment where biblical values are taught, modeled and enforced and an affordable curriculum where biblical studies are prominent at all grade levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
